From Pastor Katie:
“And the Word became flesh,
and lived among us, and we have seen his glory …” (John
It was a joy to celebrate
Christmas with all of you. What a fun and spiritually rich time of year it has
been. I especially enjoyed singing and hearing all the Christmas carols, which
are some of my favorite hymns. Also I want to say a hearty “Thank you!” to
everyone who gave me cards and gifts – you are so thoughtful and generous.
As we celebrated Christmas,
Jesus birth into the world to dwell among us, we now move into January, where
we get into some of the business of the church. Trondhjem will have its annual
meeting on January 9 following worship, so Pastor Spande will be preaching in
What we need to hold on to in
the midst of planning and meeting and budgets and serving is that Jesus did
dwell and continues to live among us. We remember that we are here to hear
God’s Word of love for us, and to act out of that love for the good of this
church and all people. Whether we are talking about money or planning a meal or
putting together an annual report or electing council members, we do it keeping
in mind that the living God lives among us. That is our focus.
I have also heard more than
one person tell me that they are tired of the snow. I know I will spend some of
my prayer time praying for “favorable weather”!
Peace,
Pastor Katie
Dear Friends in Christ,
This is a time to reflect on changes. That God’s
love for this world, even to us as particular and peculiar beings, should be so
profound as to bring about “Word made Flesh” is perhaps as big a change as our
history has seen.
On a bit smaller scale, our work and lives here in
Another change has to do with our family; next summer
marks Nathan’s graduation from high school in
At this point, we look to land somewhere that will allow
a continuation of the many, many connections and history of these nearly seven
years in
In Advent season, expectation and preparation are joyful
themes. Sometimes, though, that preparation can be a lot of work.
As we see or expect Christ to manifest in our lives, there may be a lot of
personal and family preparation that is a part of it. We give thanks for
the opportunities, for what has been, and for what we trust will be.
Gratefully,
Kristopher and Rebecca
Thank you to everyone who brought in items during Advent to
Sunday Night Live! begins again on January 9 and will run through the
end of February. We start out with a free meal for all at

ALTAR GUILD
WOULD YOU LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE FRESH FLOWERS?
Fresh
flowers for the altar are a beautiful addition to our worship service. If you wish to furnish flowers, all you need
to do is call the Altar Guild president, Marlene Thompson (373-3895). The Guild will purchase and display the
flowers for you, and if you wish, will put an acknowledgement in the Sunday
bulletin. Cost of the flowers is usually
about $20. Your generosity and support
are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
